Tim Hecker
Vancouver-born electronic musician Tim Hecker has become internationally recognized for his experimental ambient recordings, ranging from peaceful electronic melodies to dark, foreboding drones. Hecker started his recording career as Jetone, a techno-aligned project that saw the release of three albums. In 2001, Hecker became disillusioned by the Jetone project and began recording under his own name, first releasing Haunt Me, Haunt Me Do It Again on Alien8. Since that time, he has consistently released experimental ambient music that distorts standard compositional barriers while still remaining accessible to listeners. Hecker has released a total of eight albums, including highly acclaimed releases like 2006’s Harmony in Ultraviolet, Ravedeath, 1972 from 2011, and last year’s Love Streams
