English record producer, remixer, DJ and musician Jamie xx is known for both his solo work and as a member of the English indie band The xx. As a member of The xx, the group released their self-titled debut album xx in 2009, which went platinum in the United Kingdom. He first used the stage name Jamie xx in a promotional mix following the release of their debut album. In 2011, he worked with Gil Scott-Heron on the remix album We’re New Here, which received widespread critical acclaim. Jamie xx’s debut album, In Colour, released in 2016 and was featured on numerous “Best of 2016” lists, including Pitchfork, Billboard and Time. The album was recognised with a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album.
