THE VANITY
The Vanity is a Band from Austin, Tx that was formed in 2014. Leaving their print on the ever-growing music scene in Austin, The Vanity has recently released their debut E.P. “Strangers.” The record has gained mass momentum, perhaps a reason they were selected to be the support for The Cold War Kids at SXSW. With influences ranging from Guitar-heavy punk to feel-good indie, the group had insightful input from legendary mixer Kevin Killen (U2, Bon Jovi, Elvis Costello, etc…) and producer Bruce Hughes. The Vanity is comprised of vocalist Alex Dugan, guitarist Mic Vredenenburgh, Matt Sledge, bassist Augie Gmitter and drummer David Grayson.
The Texas natives begin the E.P with the song entitled “River,” with an infectious chorus inspired by a dark moment in life for certain members of the group. “We’ve been writing and developing this sound for almost a year now, but it’s time people heard us,” Dugan says in an interview with Diffuser.
