The so funky french duo Masomenos is a productive partnership between Joan Costes, graphic designer and DJ, and Adrien de Maublanc, music producer and AD. When they met in 2006, they almost immediately started working together, expressing themselves through different medias such as image, videos, and sound, finding in Masomenos a great playground for their creativity. But it’s definitely the music who got the whole story starting. Bon Voyage was the perfect first project as it was a combination of both their specialty (half selection/half production). It ended up being a one hour bootlegged musical journey that brought them enough positive feedbacks to keep on this path. Though, they both kept on doing what they were doing before they met: As Joan was digging records and spending time behind the decks, Adrien was building up his studio, and defining his production style.

The next step was to create their own label, as they understood it would be the best way to express fully their universe musically, but also visually, as this was also important part of their work, that they would keep on developing on the side of their musical activities, that’s how WTM was borned. Since then, Masomenos started to be requested for gigs, and have been touring worldwide since then. They’ve released 5 albums (Bon Voyage, Masomenos Livemix, The Third Eye, Masomenos Ballons, Masomenos Technocolor) and over 35 eps.

These days, they’re are focused on enlarging their expression field and propose interactive audiovisual installations. They have started with Tofidi audio visual show, and they are now about to release their latest album, Totem and Tabou as an experimental device put up as a Pentagon Hut, where 5 light sculptures (The Masks) are playing the partition that also translated into an app. The relationship between music/sound and image has been the core of their creation and they keep on digging this experimental path by proposing stand alone mapping and sound reactive installation.
